Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom is a Dora the Explorer TV special. It is also the 14th episode of Season 5 and the second episode of the Magic Storybook Trilogy.

Summary
Dora and Boots jump into a book to help a girl named Allie find the 4 colored crystals that were stolen from the Crystal Kingdom in 4 different stories on their big searching adventure. They also get a Shield, Butterfly Wings, and a Magic Wand along the way.
Recap
Act 1
Dora and Boots were eating bananas and drinking some hot chocolate before reading another story from the Magic Storybook: the Crystal Kingdom. In the story, there lived a kingdom made out of crystals and its colors were powered by the four magic colored crystals from the crystal statue. The yellow crystal made the sun shine yellow, the blue crystal made the sky and ocean blue, the green crystal made the tree and grass green, and the red crystal joined with the others to make a beautiful rainbow. The townspeople loved their town full of color; however, the Greedy King did not like sharing, and wanted the crystals all to himself. So he stole the crystals from the giant statue and hid them in other stories; without the magic crystals, the Crystal Kingdom began to lose its color. A girl named Allie wanted to help out, but didn't know what to do. Suddenly, a light appeared in the sky and she wondered what it was. At this point, the magic crystal in Dora's necklace began to glow in rainbow colors, which has never happened before; Boots realizes the crystal is shining a rainbow into the story where Allie lives, causing her to fly right out of the story and into their forest. The two meet up with Allie and she recognizes Dora's crystal, but she points out this is not one of Allie's as it was given to her by the Snow Princess, who looks like her. Suddenly, the crystal begins to glow again and shine rainbows once more, and she is greeted by the Snow Princess calling her; the Snow Princess tells Dora the crystal will shine colors as long as there is still color left in Allie's kingdom.

- Similar to "The Mixed-Up Seasons", the last place on the map is the same place the adventure started.
- The ending of the episode was Boots' favorite part instead of Dora's.
- This is a sequel to "Dora Saves the Snow Princess" – Dora is wearing the crystal necklace the snow princess gave her. When she says she got it in another storybook, she is mentioning the events.
- The same episode title was used as a video game for the Nintendo Wii.
- Kate will later appear in the spin-off series Dora and Friends: Into the City as an Explorer Girl with a different appearance and voice.
- The Greedy King sounds like Tom from Tom and Jerry: The Movie, Molt the Grasshoper from Disney's A Bug's Life and more. Ironically, all of them are voiced by Richard Kind.
- Coincidentally, the order in which the crystals are found in this episode is the same as the colors of Arco Iris in The Shy Rainbow from inside to outside.
- This marks the sixth appearance of the extended version of "We Did It!". The other five were Dora's Pirate Adventure, Dora's Dance to the Rescue, Dora's World Adventure, Dora Saves the Mermaids, and Dora Saves the Snow Princess.
- This is the first new episode to air on the rebrand of Nick.
- Benny, Tico, Isa, and Swiper do not appear in this episode.
- However, the Greedy King takes Swiper's place as the antagonist.
- Once again, however, much both like the Witch from Dora Saves the Prince, and the Garbage Octopus from Dora Saves the Mermaids, the Greedy King reforms himself and is forgiven by Dora, Boots, Allie, and everyone else in the Crystal Kingdom for his actions.
- However, the Greedy King takes Swiper's place as the antagonist.
- Although the episode premiered in 2009, it was actually made in 2008 according to the credits.
- When Dora and Boots are flipping through the pages in the book, León from Season 2 episode "León, the Circus Lion" is seen on one of the pages.
- Dora, Boots, and Allie are traveling from story to story in this episode, so they do not sing the Travel Song.
- It is revealed that Map never gives out the wrong information.
- The Picture Pop-Up Sequence uses the same thing on the map segment rather than the usual black outline.
- The bunnies' hopping sound is the same as Boots' jumping sound.
- The last bunny makes Swiper's "woop" and "zoop" sounds.
- This is the only double-length episode where the Fiesta Trio does not play their extended fanfare before We Did It!.
Goofs/Errors
- It is unknown how the Fiesta Trio got into the Magic Storybook.
- In the page of the storybook with León at the circus, his nose is black instead of magenta.
- The rainbow did not have orange, indigo, and purple stripes, three colors that rainbows also have in real life.
- Also, just like in The Shy Rainbow, the colors red, yellow, green, and blue were out of order. Yellow was supposed to be between red and green, so blue was supposed to be last.
- In real life, the rainbow colors in order are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple.
- However, the rainbow that shines from Dora's crystal into the book has all seven colors.
- At the end of the We Did It! song, when the Blue Cursor clicks on Dora to her asking the viewer what his/her favorite part was, Boots was somehow changed into his regular outfit.
